Cheryl went to her first dog show in 1964 and entered a Great Dane in her first dog show in 1967. She finished her first homebred Champion Great Dane in 1972. Weimaraners found her in 1985. Liberty Weimaraners has produced Multiple Top 10, Multiple Best in Specialty Show winners, Versatile Excellent Weimaraners, plus 10 Best in Futurity/Maturity Winners. 41 Champions have been bred or co-bred by Liberty. This was accomplished with very few litters.
Cheryl believes in giving back to the “Sport of Dogs” and has served the Weimaraner Club of America as an Officer and Board Member, the Judges Education Chair (retired) as well as member of the WCA National Show Committee.
Cheryl has been a member of her all breed club since 1971. She co-founded the New England Sporting Group Club. Cheryl is a member of several Weimaraner Clubs. She has served as show chair for several including two Independent Regional Specialties held in conjunction with the 2007 National Specialty.
Cheryl currently judges multiple sporting breeds in the United States. She recently returned from New Zealand and Australia where she adjudicated 5 Gun Dog Specialties. She has judged her National Top 20 and will judge her third Weimaraner futurity/maturity for the WCA at National 2010.
Cheryl lives in tranquil Eastern CT and shares her life with 1 Weim and 3 Frenchies.
